The festival begins on Friday, September 20, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with an exclusive Art Exhibit and Discussion featuring Emory Douglas, the iconic former Minister of Culture with the Black Panther Party. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with powerful artworks that highlight cultural resilience and social justice. On Saturday, September 21, the festivities start at 9:30 AM with an Opening Ceremony, setting the tone for a day filled with high-vibration sounds from DJ Aba Shaka, known as the “Musical Bush Doctor.” Among the day’s highlights is a live performance by festival headliner Mausiki Scales & The Common Ground Collective from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
